WE ARE LIFE CHANGER

The name Güzelyurt means “Beautiful Place”, it is situated close to the foothills of the Troodos Mountains and is the most fertile agricultural area in Northern Cyprus. Güzelyurt area is proud of its citrus gardens and strawberry fields.

 Vouni Palace, Tumba Tou Skourou, St. Mamas Church has changed over time. The name of the city, which was called Morphou (Omorfo) until 1974, was translated into Turkish as Güzelyurt after 1974. Güzelyurt was a settlement connected to the city of Nicosia until 1998, but with a law enacted in 1998, it gained district status just like İskele.

Festivals are also held in Güzelyurt, which meets the local vegetable and fruit consumption of the TRNC. The most important of these festivals is traditional in June-July. It is the Güzelyurt Orange Festival. The interest in this festival is very high and the city is flooded with visitors during the months of the festival.

Although Güzelyurt stands out with its agricultural production, it is also home to universities. The Northern Cyprus Campus of the Middle East Technical University, located in Kalkanlı Village, is located here.

Güzelyurt is located 40 km away from Nicosia and 47 km to Kyrenia; it is an important point for those who want to experience the Cypriot culture closely and see the local life. It is one of the most beautiful spots of TRNC with its hospitable people, historical ruins and untouched nature.
